Participants will learn to recognize signs of sensory overload and stress, and understand how to implement appropriate strategies to mitigate these effects. We will explore a variety of sensory tools and equipment, understanding their functions and potential benefits for sensory regulation as well as discover a range of calming techniques, including mindfulness, deep breathing, and progressive muscle relaxation. Together, we will explore how to effectively apply these strategies and understand how the use of sensory tools and calming strategies can promote inclusivity and accessibility.
