
Rabbi Schwartz is the Rabbi at Temple B’nai Sholom in Huntsville, AL. Previously, Rabbi Schwartz served at Congregation Shir Hadash as Associate Rabbi Educator in Los Gatos, CA from 2017-2023, and served Temple Israel in Westport, CT as Assistant Rabbi from 2013-2017. He is passionate about developing meaningful relationships, creating and facilitating community, and guiding others in finding their authentic selves. Rabbi Schwartz was ordained from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in Cincinnati, OH in June 2013 and was the recipient of the Ferdinand M. Isserman Prize. In addition to his rabbinic studies, he has a Master’s in Educational Administration with a Specialization in Jewish Education at Xavier University in 2011, and received a Certificate in Jewish Education with a Specialization in Adolescents and Emerging Adults through HUC-JIR in 2016. He wrote rabbinic thesis on the traditional and contemporary understandings of kavannah (intentionality, thoughtfulness, and devotion) in Jewish worship and was awarded the title of “Reform Jewish Educator” by the Association of Reform Jewish Educators in 2013. Originally from Greenville, SC, he is excited to return to his southern roots with his college sweetheart, Michelle, and children Jonah (3) and Ellie (8 months).
