Dr. Gross will discuss his new co-edited book, Feasting and Fasting: The History and Ethics of Jewish Food (New York University Press), which explores the intertwinement of food and Jewish traditions. Gross’s presentation will also consider why food is especially important for Jewish communities to reflect upon in the age of Covid-19.

Aaron S. Gross is a professor of Jewish studies at the University of San Diego, a past president of the Society for Jewish Ethics, and founder and CEO of the nonprofit advocacy group Farm Forward, which runs the Jewish Initiative for Animals.
