We are thrilled to welcome Ellen Lefkowitz as our newest Senior Educator. Ellen comes to us with a wealth of experience in Jewish educational settings and a variety of age groups. Most recently, Ellen has served as the Early Childhood Director of Temple Sinai in Oakland and is the Vice-President of Learning for ECE-RJ. She will add her early childhood expertise to our team, supporting early childhood education professionals in caring for and teaching our community’s youngest learners. Ellen will work with directors and teachers to assess the needs and areas of interest among early childhood educators to ensure our program offerings serve them. In addition, she will be coordinating the Bay Area ECE Director’s Forum, managing several early childhood initiatives, and, along with other members of our senior educator team, elevating the field of Jewish education through the nurturing and sustaining of Jewish educators.
A Message from Ellen
I am so excited to be joining the Jewish LearningWorks team! I am deeply inspired by the creativity and innovation happening in the field of Jewish education and am honored to be a thought partner to those in the field. As a long time educator in the Bay Area Jewish community, I aspire to support, collaborate and learn along with our educational leaders as we push the boundaries of Jewish education in new and exciting ways. I believe Jewish education is a vehicle to deepen connections to Jewish life, pursue justice, and lift up the voices of all members of our community and look forward to doing that alongside the dynamic team of educators at Jewish LearningWorks.
