Cheshvan as Havdalah: Making the Everyday Sacred

Moving from the sacred and profound of the chaggim into the mundane normalcy of the rest of the year

As we leave behind us the many weeks of chaggim that mark the month of Tishrei, Cheshvan is the only month of the year without significant holidays. This return to the mundane is a perfect moment to reflect on what we are holding onto as we move into the year ahead.

Taking inspiration from the havdalah ceremony, where we seek to hold onto the sacred moments of shabbat, and bring them with us into the week ahead - we invite you to gather with the Kadima Collective for a reflective ritual of transition and separation. Together we will individually and collectively decide what we want to "hold onto" from the High Holy Days as we move into 5787.

Jewish LearningWorks Senior Educator, Alisha Pedowitz, will draw from our SoulFULL Community of Practice and SoulFULL Sources teaching practices for a spiritually centered session, designed just for the Kadima Collective members.

  • Aimed at: Kadima Collective members. Kadima Collective members are professionals who have participated in a fellowship, certificate program, coaching or mentoring program, or have learned with Jewish LearningWorks for 40+ hours.
  • When: Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:15 pm, PT.
  • Where: Zoom link will be sent upon RSVP.
  • RSVP: This is an invitation-only event. Kadima members will receive a digital invitation. We are accepting RSVPs until October 29 at 11 am.
