Introducing Prayer
Shema: Listening as Prayer
We have partnered with Jewish educator and spiritual director, Sue Bojdak, to offer you a framework for introducing prayer to children as a way of bringing spiritual practice into their everyday lives. This spiritual teaching resource is focused on Judaism’s central prayer, the Shema. It uses the sense of hearing and the act of listening as a launchpad to stretch our conceptions of prayer, both intellectually and experientially.
Ideal for elementary school students across Jewish educational settings. This lesson may be adapted for learners of all ages.
