Spiritual Education Resources

A collection of instructional guides fostering inspired resilience

Jewish LearningWorks believes this is a critical time for Jewish education to return spirituality to the forefront of our work, honoring its place as a tool to help the next generation find meaning, create purpose, and embrace hope.

While Jewish religious education focuses on knowledge, tradition, and practices to help learners participate fully in Jewish religious life, Jewish spiritual education complements it by making those practices feel alive and relevant to them.

We are pleased to launch a new set of spiritual education resources to support Jewish educators in this work. You will find these instructional guides:

  • Help educators move from “what we do” to “how we feel” and “what it means.”
  • Draw from Jewish wisdom, prayer, meditation, music, nature, or storytelling to cultivate awe, wonder, gratitude, and purpose.
  • Nurture personal and communal spiritual growth, helping learners connect Judaism to their lives and souls.

INTRODUCING SPIRITUAL LANGUAGE

Hinei Ma Tov: Stop Notice and Name the Good

We have partnered with the Light Lab to offer you a framework to introduce Jewish spiritual language to children, as a way to explore and normalize the experience of the spiritual in everyday life. This instructional resource is focused on the key siddur phrase, “Hinei Ma Tov,” and how to use it as a tool for exercising awareness.

Ideal for K-5 students across Jewish educational settings. Adolescents may also benefit from this educational activity.
