Beginning July 2, the Jewish Community Library will resume limited library service two days a week in the form of “courtyard pickup” at its main branch in San Francisco. Books, DVDs, and CDs must be reserved in advance. After searching our catalog, you can reserve items by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, by calling 415.567.3327 ext. 704, or by logging in to your patron account in our catalog to place a hold. We are still available by email or phone to help you find the right materials.
Materials that have been reserved will be available for pickup in the courtyard (the area between the garage and the front doors) only on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 am to 4 pm at the Library’s main branch at 1835 Ellis Street. That area can be accessed via the pedestrian gate on Ellis Street or the garage entry on Pierce Street between Ellis and Eddy.
After you reserve an item, we will then confirm by email or phone call when your items are downstairs and ready for you to pick up. Please note that the pickup of materials will be at the building’s entrance, and patrons may not access the building or the Library itself. Materials that are circulated will have been quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours.
We are sorry to report that the Pushcart branches at the JCCSF and the Oshman Family JCC will remain closed indefinitely. Items from those branches may be returned to the main branch (the drop box at the Ellis Street gate is always open) or mailed back to us at 1835 Ellis Street, San Francisco, CA 94115.
