Jewish LearningWednesdays are designed with plenty of time to share and ask questions. We encourage you to join with video whenever possible. No need to register for Jewish LearningWednesdays, but if you’re planning to join us and haven’t attended a Jewish LearningWorks program in the past, please send us your name in advance for security purposes. Thanks!

Join local author and JCHS faculty member Evan Wolkenstein for a conversation about both the magic and the challenges of the b’mitvah years. We will touch on the special role of non-parent adults in the lives of b’mitzvah students, ways children and adults transform during the course of study, and consider the meaning and purpose of this Jewish “rite-of-passage.” Evan will read a short selection from his recently released book “Turtle Boy” and share a few highlights from a new curriculum he has crafted in partnership with the Pardes Institute for Jewish Studies. Today’s session will be facilitated by Jewish LearningWorks’ Director of Professional Learning, Jenni Mangel.
