Einat Ramon will explore the unique features of modern Israeli approaches to spiritual caregiving, showing the influence of diverse Jewish and Israeli texts and thinkers—from the literary to the legal—on these methods and traditions.
Dr. Einat Ramon is a practitioner and educator of Israeli spiritual caregiving and a senior lecturer in Jewish thought at the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. In 2011, she founded the Marpeh program, the only Israeli academic program that trains spiritual caregivers, promoting the profession’s practices and philosophy through the use of a wide variety of ancient and modern Jewish sources. Dr. Ramon also wrote the first professional standards, including the code of ethics, for Israeli spiritual caregivers. She holds a PhD from Stanford University.
Co-presented by the Interreligious Chaplaincy Program at the Graduate Theological Union.
