Our unconscious biases are embedded in every decision we make, both in our personal and work lives. They produce unintended outcomes in our relationships and workplaces as we hire, lead, teach, welcome people and support them on their own individual and communal journeys. We can’t eliminate these biases, but we can effectively learn about and recognize them to make our workplaces and communities more just and equitable. In this session we will encounter frameworks for understanding implicit bias, confront our own in connection with our work, and understand how we may identify and address these detrimental biases in order to mitigate their effects.
